FAQs

  • The income is really unlimited. Having in mind that one semi-truck usually makes between $4000 and $8000 a week, and that typical dispatcher charges between 5% and 10% off of the gross pay of the owner-operator, that leaves a dispatcher with an average of $500 a week per truck. Multiply it by 5 trucks and you get a sum of $2500 per week. Now, in the real world your weekly pay for 5 trucks will be more around $1500-$2000 due to various reasons, but it’s still a nice chunk of money.

  • Of course, you can. I made a few videos that talk about that. Here they are: Start your dispatching company from outside the US. How to form a company in the US if you are a non-resident.

  • A better question would be “Are freight dispatching companies illegal?” Since there is nothing in the law that categorically states that they are illegal, and since they are not regulated by a government body, it’s hard to argue that they are illegal. Take a look at this video of mine: Are dispatching companies legal?

  • Here is a video for you to watch: Do I need liability and cargo insurance as a dispatcher? That is where I talk about this question that gets asked a lot.

  • DAT board, Truckers Edge, and 123 Loadboards do not require MC and USDOT numbers. Truck Stop does require it and the only way to sign up with Truck Stop is with one of your carriers credentials. Take a look at this video where I am calling load boards and asking them about this question: How to get access to load boards as a freight dispatcher

  • This is for sure the hardest part of the dispatching business, and I made a video where I extensively talk about the best ways to find owner-operators to work with. Watch it here: How to find owner-operators as a dispatcher

  • Unfortunately, I do not need any help right now. I even had people offering me free help, but I really don’t want anyone to work for free for me. I greatly appreciate your offers but at the time being, I am not hiring dispatchers.

  • I appreciate your offer but at this time I don’t have anything set up in that sense. I want to continue to offer you free content and I don’t want anyone to get the impression that I expect monetary gain from you as a viewer. The best way to thank me is if you watch my videos in their entirety, subscribe to the channel, like the videos, and share them with your friends, on social networks, etc.

  • I am glad you asked. Check out our new Ready to Dispatch course HERE.
